Buhari Support Group Clarifies Controversy over Their Candidates’ Credentials

The Director, Publicity, Buhari 2015 Support Group Centre, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, has described as uncalled for an on-line controversy over the veracity or otherwise of General Muhammadu Buhari’s credentials as was submitted to the Independent National Election Commission (INEC).

A statement issued yesterday in Abuja  by Maduekwe, maintained that the integrity of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was not in doubt, adding  that he was known for transparency and due process.

“My attention has just been drawn to an unnecessary controversy over the question of Buhari’s credentials. I want to say that the on-line controversy is uncalled for because Buhari is a man whose antecedents are well known. His integrity is not in doubt, he is known for transparency and due process.

“We are in the age of search engines any effort to goggle Buhari’s credentials will yield the required results. He attended Katsina Provincial School where he was a school prefect and Head Boy before proceeding to the Nigerian Military Training College which was later renamed Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), the records are there.

“There is no how he would have proceeded to the academy if he did not have the requisite academic qualifications from the provincial school. Haven attended defence school he attended several military institutions at home and abroad including Anderlecht in the United Kingdom, other military institutions in the USA and India.

“These records are there. I want to disabuse the minds of Nigerians that those peddling campaign questioning his qualifications are engaging in an enterprise in futility because it is a non issue,” he said.
